Action Plans

Action Plan teams met in November 2007 to develop original action plans.  Action plans are reviewed annually and updated accordingly. Click on the goal to view the action plan in a pdf file.

 

Strategy 1:  21st Century Skill Implementation
We will identify, integrate, implement, and institutionalize 21st century skills into the entire curriculum.
Goal 1: We will implement 21st Century Skills so that all students have the necessary tools for lifelong learning.
Strategy 2:  Best Practices of Instruction
We will ensure that all HUHS staff consistently utilize best practices in student instruction and general school operation.
Goal 1:     
        
We will implement instructional strategies that incorporate research-based best practices for increased student learning and achievement.
Goal 2:   We will implement a student behavior policy that incorporates research-based best practices for increased student learning and achievement.
Goal 3:  We will implement an assessment policy that incorporates research-based best practices for increased student learning and achievement.*

Strategy 3:  Transition (8th to 9th Grade)
We, in collaboration with the K‐8 districts, will ensure a seamless transition from 8th to 9th grade by establishing regular communication to align curriculum and expectations for students.
Goal 1:   
We will improve communication and articulation with the K-8 school districts.
Goal 2:
We will teach students how to learn to improve their learning efficiency and success.   
Goal 3: We will provide opportunities for students who are credit deficient to recover credits needed for graduation. 
Strategy 4:  Data-Driven Decisions
We will make decisions for Hartford Union High School by using accurate and complete data.
Goal 1: We will use the most appropriate, accurate data to lead HUHS to become a nationally-recognized leader in education.
Goal 2:    We will evaluate program effectiveness within Hartford Union High School to measure and improve student achievement.
Goal 3:     We will use perception and participation data to evaluate our progress toward creating a dynamic environment where every student is eager to learn.
