HUHS Annual Goals - 2008-09

The following goals were created at the HUHS Annual Data Retreat in August 2008. Click here for a printable copy.

1.

Area of Study:  WKCE

Goal:  All core content areas will have a plan by Summer 2009 to align scope and sequence of freshman and sophomore curriculum so that all students will have access to the knowledge, skills, and competencies required by the WKCE test and improve all student performance.

2.

Area of Study:  ACT

Goal:  Achieve a district ACT composite score of 23.0 for the Class of 2010.

Student Achievement Objective:  Student achievement will increase as evidenced by annual improvement of results from local, state, and national assessment tools.

Responsible:  Counselors, K-8 Administrators, HUHS Administrators, Department Chairs

3.

Area of Study:  ACT

Goal:  Increase the number of students taking the ACT test by 10% (75% of students) for the Class of 2010.

4.

Area of Study:  AP (Advanced Placement)

Goal:  Align sequence of courses by Summer 2009 so students and parents see a clear path to AP courses.

5.

Area of Study:  AP (Advanced Placement)

Goal:  Increase the number of students taking AP exams by 50% during the 2008-09 school year.

6.

Area of Study:  AP (Advanced Placement)

Goal:  Increase students enrolled in AP courses by 20% by the 2009-10 school year.

Area of Study:  Credits, Course Offerings, Failures

Goal:  Modify special education delivery model to reduce the number of failed grades received by special education students by 50%.

8.

Area of Study:  Credits, Course Offerings, Failures

Goal:  Reduce by 50% the number of students who strongly disagree/disagree/are neutral  regarding teacher relationships using SEARCH Institute survey data during the 2008-09 school year.

Area of Study:  Student Behaviors

Goal:  Decrease dropout rate by 50% for entire student population during the 2008-09 school year.

10.

Area of Study:  Teacher Profile

Goal:  Market aggressively the positive attributes of HUHS in order to see a net positive enrollment through open enrollment and an increased positive perception by the public as evidenced through an annual survey.

11.

Area of Study:  Teacher Profile

Goal:  Increase/improve flow of communication in a collaborative manner among all stakeholders to improve understanding and perceptions and to foster an environment of open dialogue as evidenced by perception surveys.

Goal:  Improve levels of participation, ownership, teamwork, and professionalism among staff and administration as evidenced by an annual perception survey.
